Quote: Hahaha! I'm getting close to qualifying for old (turned 50 earlier this year), but don't feel all that much different than I did at 40. Of course at that age I had 6 and 3 yr old boys, so was too busy to notice the passage of time much.
Those turkeys are great! You can tell how huge they are from the pics. Do you wish them "Happy Turkey Day"?
Hope your hub comes back and you have a chance to sort things out.
ONE!!!!
I gave Rumples another dust bath today. It is close to 90 and the flock is sitting under the bushes. If work stays busy for the month of July I am taking Rumples to the vet. It breaks my heart to see her sit all alone. Her chicks (big chicks) snuggle with her at night, but in a month or so, I am going to ease them into cooping up at night.
We are going to a wedding in Lodi, CA on the 4th of July. It is supposed to be 100+!! I am going to melt!

Poor Rumples.
If she does pass, it might be worth having a necropsy done to see what happened to her.
If you want to detour to Sonoma county on your way home, come on over! (I'm about 1½ hrs west of I-5, and about 30 mins east of the blissfully cool Pacific.) It's going to be hot here too, but not as hot as Lodi. Don't melt!!!
The air is so thick outside already you can't breath! They are calling for strong storms this afternoon.
So after 15 weeks and 3 days I can report something other then nothing lol...... I have 4 of the 12 RSL's squatting!!! And one of the silkies acts like it is sorta broody and hasn't even laid and egg yet but it messing with the golf ball in box and she keeps sitting next to it so I don't know what all that means. I'm just very happy to see some different behavior! Maybe we are finally getting close to egg time.
Woohoo! It's not eggs yet, but at least they're showing signs of moving in the right direction.
Could be a couple more weeks, but hope it's sooner.
