Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Wow I can't believe all the posts in hot weather! We've had really nice weather this summer. No heat waves and maybe only a couple days over 90. We have had some upper 80s and humid which are tough for hubby working outside bug nothing extreme!!
 
Shew, clindz... lucky you! It wasn't too bad here today, but has been.... HOT AND HUMID!

We had a little excitement today.... well, kinda.... Tuesday my son fell and when he caught himself, he hit his thumb. We figured it was just jammed, so had him put ice on it. It was a little sore Tues. night and Wed. but he didn't say anything after that. This morning I was clipping his fingernails, and noticed that his thumb was still swollen and a little bruised. I called his doctor, and they wanted me to take him for xrays. When hubby got home, we went on to the ER. They did the xrays, and we waited for them to get the results, call his doctor and them telling us that his thumb was broken. Since we had waited, and were still there his dr wanted us to go into the ER and have it splinted for the weekend. We have to go to his dr on Monday, and get an appointment for Orthopedics. He will end up in a cast for a few weeks, since it is his thumb, and right next to his hand. I feel awful that his thumb has been broken for 3 days, and we are just now taking him to have it checked.... He has such a high pain tolerance, that he deals with things that most kids would whine and fuss about....



He thinks its cool that he's going to have a cast.... Lord help me!

 
Lindz - if it makes you feel any better, I have heard that breaks often don't hurt as much as sprains. I was a pro at spraining my ankle when I was younger and heard that from many drs. What a little trooper and such a cute face! Draw a chicken on his cast for me ;)

chickenlindz - it hasn't been super hot here either. Only a few days where we've run the AC. Last summer was brutal but this summer has been nice. Mostly 70's and not as humid as normal. I am liking it!

I think we closed out the day with zero eggs. I would write a poem but any word that would rhyme with none also rhymes wth one and I've used all those up!
 
Yeah breaks aren't as bad as sprains and if you think of it the trauma of the break is over for him and now he gets the added benefit of a cast??? It's a win win for a boy!! Lol!

I will definitely do that Mortie! I just feel bad that I didn't catch it sooner! And yes, he was all excited, because "last year in school, two boys had casts and it was cool! And now I'm going to have one too!" LOL.... BOYS!!! At least I only have one boy.... although the 3 girls give him a run for his money, and they whine when they get hurt... LOL
 


^ & v are a bit blurry, but they are almost 2 feet up inside the lilac. good balance!


it's more humid than hot, I guess...and we do have a breeze. but they were all hanging under my truck and in the shady bathing areas - if they were out in the open, they were holding their wings open to catch the breeze and there was quite a bit of panting. I had my first corn on the cob tonight, it was so good and I purposely left the ends intact, so I could share in the morning - I ate 4 ears, so I have 8 end pieces. I'm looking forward to their breakfast frenzy!
