what kind of birds do you have?  Did you see my picture of maggie a few posts ago? THat one has been that red for about a month maybe a little more.  Nuthin comin outta her butt except POOP.  Hopefully your birds are not related to that one...

I have 7 BSL and 6 RIR that will be 16 wk played them the egg song on my phone and they all run to the coop. I don't have a special bond with my RIR's so I just know they'll torture me

21 weeks. The BA's look really ready, one's comb is so large it's almost falling over on itself, they turned really red over a month ago. I give treats and water and they are clean and healthy. We have had a lot of days over 90 degrees lately, so I'm using that as their excuse ... for now!

Oh dear...you might be in trouble then. I think Miss Maggie McHugecomb is at least part RIR. She is also obviously part barred rock. Got to be. No other explanation for it.

Oh y'all I'm just sick. I let them out and ran up to the house to get something. They are all gone I can't find them. Heavy woods around our house. Can chickens find their way home? I got lost in the woods looking for them, made it back. They are nowhere to he seen.

What??? Do you have a treat container you can shake? Do you have something they could be hiding under? Bushes? a deck? Are they maybe back in the coop, did you look there? Oh dear. I hope you find them.

yes, they can. One time my dad heard the chickens squaking and it was raccoons inside the coop with the chickens gone! We prayed for them to come back and then later that night we heard a rooster crow by the coop! They came back.

Phionex boy, several of us have offered help and pointed you toward the incubating threads because we don't know anything about what you are asking about. We are all willing to help with what we can but can't help with what we don't have any experience with. Congratulations on your new layer and I hope the others follow suit soon!
