Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

TWO for yesterday.
That is a fantastic shot! From last night? Then it's a supermoon, which is brighter and larger than normal. Totally cool

but kind of a bummer for viewing the meteor showers.

Pb we understand why you are asking about incubators. Problem is we don't know the answers...wI hate to point it out but you totally ignored my question ;)

So I am still trapped at this birthday party. Hubs told me Wilson laid her egg but he won't send me a picture...

Yay Wilson! Would today be the first day for 2 good eggs? I'm losing track. My Lucy laid her third pretty egg in a row today, about 1 hour later each time. Each one has been 1 gram heavier which is kind of funny. Now I'm getting greedy for 2 eggs in one day, myself.

i got another egg... from this one:

She has been laying all of them.. i thought rooster but was wrong...

Oh, that's a hen for sure. Most roosters will get different feathers than hens, and is a good way to tell them apart. You need to look for thin and pointed saddle feathers and hackle feathers. From what I can see, the other two pullets in your picture aren't ready to lay just yet. Looks like you'll have to wait a little longer...

Here's how to tell roosters from hens. A big comb is only part of the story.
See the bright orange, long, thin feathers hanging down from the back of this cockerel near his tail? Those are saddle feathers. Hens don't ever get them hanging down like that. It's harder to see, but his neck feathers are long and pointed and hang lower than you'd see on a hen. Those are hackle feathers.

This hen has a much bigger comb and wattles than many roosters, but if you look carefully, all her feathers are blunt and rounded, making her look smooth. None of her feathers hang down lower like the rooster's feathers. You can tell even though she is a solid color.

and the reason i ask so much about incubators is because im struggling...
sending you a pm
