Maybe they're younger than you think, too...that could happen I suppose if the lady had a lot of birds. I still think even if they were past their prime for laying, you would still see an egg here and there unless they were REALLY old.
Ok sorry to keep asking questions but I finally had the time to go out to take pics of chickens but we bought these black ones first under the assumption they were BAs but now not so sure.
I have been researching breeds and I'm guessing Langshans?? They have a green sheen to their feathers when sun hits them and they have feathers on their legs. I don't know

TN - ok whew. I was going to say, those look awfully young. You may get eggs out of them yet this year, if you look in the first egg pics thread, plenty of people have gotten their first eggs in winter. Only thing to do is wait I hate waiting.
