it's like a skating rink, but we still had fun. 4 eggs today, 1 from the Fosters, 1 Marans & 1 green from the Dome and 1 smaller than peewee 1/2 Silkie egg from Cressa.

So I was just getting ready to have supervised free range again... But was sitting at my desk and the stupid hawk landed on the coop. Ugghhh I'm even worried about supervised free range cause they scatter far and wide.

Welcome to the thread!!!!

How's paisley doing after surgery?

Mortie -yay on being the one to hit 17,000!!!!

Mortie, it isn't bravery. It is desperation! The more time dh spends with little ones, the better my chances of getting his butt in gear! Even having our niece here without him here, he gets pictures of her playing in our house and being cute. He will be 58 in two weeks, and I will be 37 (fighting back tears here!) in April. We gotta git r done! Next comment left out to keep this family friendly. :p
Now I have spilled too much. Sue me! Ha ha.
No eggs today. Rephrase! I had two store eggs. Not nearly the same!

Mc - you better get on the stick!

Way too quiet around here today.

Went to my first beekeeping meeting tonight. It was nice and I met some people...I'm feeling better. I had gone through a short freak out when I thought maybe my neighbor was going to get stung mowing his lawn but I think we'll be okay. Remember I am in town. I've got a city lot with close neighbors. I don't have a ton of space to work with. Can't wait to try this bee thing out.

Paisley was doing ok last night. She ate a little and kept it down. I have to call when they open to see how she is this morning. As long as she is still ok I will probably pick her up around lunch time.

I haven't been able to use it at all. I had to switch browsers on my phone because it wants to crash. Dumb.

I heard the chickens screaming blue murder this morning...from the front of the house, through closed windows and my closed door. I went out to check for eggs and found miss Maggie in the box FURIOUSLY throwing nest materials on her back with 2 eggs under her, one of which was for sure not hers. She's acting like a pullet just starting to lay which is so cute. Actually, it's almost been as long since the last time she laid an egg as it was between when she was born and when she laid her first egg. Remember, she hasn't laid since she went broody in October. So she started laying in July, quit in October, and is now getting back on the egg train.

I'm hoping the brown egg she was sitting on wasn't hers and she adds to the pile. Collecting 3 eggs in one day hasn't happened in months. Maybe Wilson will throw one out as well and with 4 eggs in a day that's basically full production around here. We can cross Hedwig off the list for now so that gives us 5 possible layers so 4 eggs is about right.
