Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

On the news yesterday... they said that we had a phenomenon here called "dirty rain". They aren't sure what caused it, but it is possible that there was some volcanic ash in the rain. It has made everything kinda cruddy looking.

I have to laugh right now.... there is a child screaming intermittently which is making the turkeys reply with a gobble.

Over here in California, we sometimes get fish in rain.

It does not smell good.

When I worked in the east bay, there was a paper mill that would make the air so sour, especially when there was fog. Acid fog is not good. Stings your nose.

Glad I didn't stay there long. The worst thing we have around here is when some of the farmers spread manure slurry on their fields. The smell travels for miles. We say it's Cowie on those days. Mooo.

We got less rain than predicted, darn it anyway. Still a good chance for more tomorrow.

Weird weather conditions on the ocean. I has only happened twice that I recall in my lifetime do it is very rare.

Happiest of birthdays to you, Scrambles! Give Rumples a little pat from me.

My sweet Matilda (Australorp) has a yeast infection and a prolapsed cloaca.

I think she must have had it for a day before I noticed, because on that day I was getting ready for the expected huge downpour and didn't let the mob into the backyard like I have been lately. They don't have much grass left in the chicken yard since we hadn't had rain in over a month. I'm doing my best, but it's not looking so good, although she seems to be feeling better. During her soak today, I noticed that she might actually be trying to pass an egg. After some rest, I will soak her some more and try to get the egg out (if that's what it is). Maybe then I'll have some luck reducing the prolapse. Of course she is my favorite.

Happy birthday scramblez,
I was thinking about rumples going broody; it might be nice for her to raise chicks. If I'm not mistaken she was crippled the last time she raised chicks (little bit right?) so she should be able to cope so it might be nice for her to have company again. :)

I took generic hot chocolate with marshmallows that expired two years ago, added maraschino cherry juice, and topped it with whipped cream. The cherry juice made it pretty good!

W4W - sorry to hear about Matilda :( I have no advice, I just hope she gets better soon!

You guys have disgusting rain, I'm sorry. We just have plain rain here. No fish. No "dirty" rain. NO TADPOLES. EWWWWWWWW.
