Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Four or five days I think. The roo is a couple years old. The raw eggs I crack open from the frig got me wondering. Not many "bullseye" spots on yolks I checked. However I could be wrong. I will give it a little more time and candle again

I surprised a Mama Turkey's babies. Mama didn't mind, but the babies flew up! there were 8 altogether, but I didn't have the camera set on rapid burst... so I missed a few great shots.

GUESS WHAT?! GUESS WHAT?! GUESS WHAT?!!!! I have a new layer, and the egg is green!!!

When they were brought to me, the wife said, "Look, honey. Her legs are green. I didn't think we brought a green layer. Abi, keep an eye on her, and tell us if she gives you green eggs". Most of the girls are EE, but they are brown layers. So puffy face, but brown eggs.
I may have all five laying. Yesterday and today, I got one tan egg while before they were brown. Might be a new layer!
I hope everyone is okay!
Hello, Bird-lover!

Great news about the green egg MC! It's always nice to have a little variety. Does the one with green legs have a pea comb? That's usually a better way to tell if they have the genes for blue shells.

Great turkey pic, Cheeka!

My dad has a love/hate relationship with the turkeys at his place. He enjoys watching the youngsters grow up and seeing the big toms display. He hates when they attack his windows and poop on his porch, but the bad stuff is pretty infrequent, so it's a good trade off. Recently, the balance tipped toward the hate side when two young fledged poults wandered into his garage, got scared, and flew up into the rafters. Mama turkey came around and tried calling them out until she got scared and flew up and couldn't get down. The rafters are very high, two stories up, as the original house plan called for an apartment over the garage, which was never built. Babies made it down, but mama was stuck for two nights! Dad opened all the doors, and tried to give her a chance, but she pooped all over his garage floor, and his car before he moved it out. He thought he was going to have to shoot her, but finally, on the third day, she dropped down, and proceeded to try and get out through a closed window

(instead of the 3 open garage doors and open side door). After the suicide by window attempted failed, she finally went out the door. Hallelujah!

Did you know that dried poo from a frightened turkey has a cement-like consistency? Very difficult to remove from concrete floors once set. Poor dad.

Nice! We have a regular group of them coming thru our yard just about every other day.....2 females, 1 male & about 8 babies......it's funny to watch the girls go frozen when they are trooping across the yard....they are like 3 little statutes! LOL...
