Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I just got home from camping. We saw plenty of wildlife and a wolf kill.... it was a mom and calf. Probably a month or two ago.

The kids went through a ton of feed. I just bought another feeder and need another waterer. I have been showing the Bungees how the nipples work. They watched very closely.

I have a few hours of quiet time before the kids (human) get home from the camping trip. Whew.....

I think maybe it's more likely they starved or dehydration since you found them together but were then scavenged?

I should put some eggs in the incubator....then i could tell myself "by the time these hatch someone will have laid an egg." i inspected the girls today. Maggie and Wilson are leading the way with wattle development, Penny is not far behind. I've noticed the ameracauna combs pinking up a little bit but they, as expected, seem to be at least 2 weeks behind the other girls if not more. Hedwig and Shadow have been squaring off a little bit...sparring like when I had roosters. Maybe their hormones have been getting the best of them. Have you ever been around a tween girl? Emotional little things...

hahaha, I'm very blessed that my head hen is the smallest of my chickens, she may even be smaller than my cockerel silkies.

It was an easy winter this year and there are numerous wolves in these mountains. Heck... last year we were stalked by a pack of about 4 wolves. One minute there were no tracks on the mud..... 5 minutes later, there were 4 sets of tracks circling us.

Time for PIE. The kids have gone without for 2 days. Grapes for all!!
