Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

when I was coming back towards the property during a doggy walk, I heard lots of clucking. lots. so we kind of hustled along... and Egg #22 had been laid. which is much better than a lurking predator...

morite, you crack me up.

first time I got 2 eggs in one day and today they laid it in the nest box with the fake eggs, I've seen 3 of the hens working those fake eggs, so I still don't know who's it is.

Tomorrow my girls turn 15 weeks I think if my calendar is right. All my chicks came from TSC and they got them from MT. Healthy and now we are all kinda scared to death. Back to the flock.... No eggs yet no squating no nothing but a feed bill!

Any chicken carries the risk of Salmonella...
I think anything that comes out a poop hole should be assumed to be "dirty"

I wouldn't be overly concerned unless you actually have an outbreak on your place and would just follow good sanitation procedures as we all should anyway.

Yeah we just make sure to wash hands after handling the girls or working in the run OE the coop. No reason to be scared to death, the risk is salmonella comes with the territory. Just take care of your birds and make sure you are washing up and you should be jusr fine.

have 23 young chicks and 35 older, just made new coop for the young ones there is just no room in the camper coop, also made some thing to hang on the outside wall of the new one, when we are done this one we will fix up the old one. there are windows on both sides and a vent across the top there will be a peep door over on the side to go into the run that will be made later.







the rabbit cage on the end of yard is going to be new run at the end of new coop for winter run.
