Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I put the eggs under midge but I forgot to mark them. I was going to but I didn't. She IS bitey. Brat. I will pluck her off in the morning and give them each a swipe of the sharpie and let er go.

I am trying to keep maggie from progressing to full on broody.

It would not surprise me AT ALL if those little monsters have planned a baby shower for midge as soon as they figured out we were going to be gone this weekend. I swear if I find pink and blue party favors buried in the shavings, someone is going to the chopping block.

I put 6 or 7 eggs in with little miss bitey face. Even though it's past midnight, she rolled em right up under her and pancaked right over them. I hope she doesn't pluck her feathers because she kinda needs them. It's about to get cold up in here.

What a beautiful Fall day here in Idaho. The sun is shinning and the chickies are dust bathing. One egg so far from guess who?? Day 34 in a row. Rumples is still molting and I am happy that she has Little Bit to keep her warm at night.
This weekend we are going to sight in our rifles and get the hunting gear together.
I also ordered some VetRx and some wormer for the girls. Just getting some stuff added to my chicken first aid kit. Now I am going to give them some pumpkin seeds just for the heck of it. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

How are your nerves holding out?  :)

Well they are on edge lol. I woke up this morning and the house was cool. I checked on the eggs and the temp was 97! So I turned heat on in the house and wrapped the side s of bator with towels . I candle tonight and can see life in one of my white shelled eggs but just a black shadow in the other. It gad been like that for days so I knew it had quit several days ago. Opened it up and saw it had developed some :hit
