Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Yeah Cheeka, I can relate. Especially when it gets darker and the weather gets colder. Joints are getting more sensitive as time passes. Have to say, though, a nice day by myself would be just fine.

MC, I hope you guys are carrying survival gear in the rig. Just in case you get stuck in all that crazy snow.

Getting 46 eggs in one day out of 46 hens almost never happens.

You will get close in the Spring though.

Are they all in one big pen or are they broken up into two flocks with a Rooster each?

they look like Peach. the one in the front is the largest of them all, def cockerel, he looks identical to his real Mama, except he has clean legs. I thought they all had feathered shanks when they first hatched, but I have 2 who don't, both boys... looks like I got another poor split, 5 boys 2 girls... but I'm still unsure on 1, fat comb, but still pale... I'm happy that some look like her, but it's hard on me... I miss her so much.

I had a good birthday and Sweetie made it up for the evening after all, so that was really nice. I'm looking forward to chilling out all weekend! it's going to warm up over the next three days, up to 60° for Monday so Buffalo will turn into a lake. bring your waders MC! (and a snorkel)

we have too coops but in the same yard, i know it don't happen i just think it would be neat to see that they are all laying, we have had chickens on and off for 57 years, but this time its been 4 years. here is my coops
they love it can go under the coops one is a camper we had and changed it to a coop abut 4 years ago then this summer we made the new one, i asked for runs in front of the coops but got the one in the middle, they can go from one to the other. it is funny in the morning when we go out to open coop up they come running from the run to get out, we could use one door. i have never got over 26 even in the spring and summer.

You have a very nice setup!

My chicken run might be complete by the end of the week. The wire on top was a pain and I thought DH might kill me....

Girls free ranged again for most of the day Thur/fri and no sign of the hawk.

I'm getting about 3-5 eggs a day out of 18 of laying age.
