Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Thanks guys!!!!

I didn't see any red ones on the chickens and I checked the coop/roosts last night and this morning (both times pitch black outside) and didn't see any evidence of mites on the wood. But I'll be diligent over the next few weeks checking in case I'm missing them. Don't want to assume they aren't there.

The mighty mite battle is on!!!!

Our snow has turned to rain and it is miserable out. the girls will not even come out of the coop. My chores today are to clean off my messy desk and then tackle the coop. guess with all this talk about mites, I need to check again. I did a quick check two weeks ago on Rump and 2 others and found nothing. I think Spring is when they come out big time.

Our snow blower took a dump DH is going to fix it, but the damage is done. There is heavy snow in the driveway that cannot be removed with a blower anyhow. It is also too heavy to shovel. I know that there are those of you who understand. Our neighbors blower also quit on her. The girls refuse to come out, but I am sure that they will scurry when I begin to clean the coop. 2 eggs so far.

Heavy snow is a bear. My hubby is an expert on making snowblowers move snow they don't want to move. We just bought a bigger one to handle that.

I am exhausted. I spent the entire day plumbing my fish tank into the basement. UGH. So tired.

We have a cheap old blower. Its only good for the lighter fluffy snow that blows back at you and the driveway as you go.

We had one like that before...and found it was completely useless when you would really want a snowblower. So we bought a more serious one this year and even this one is really not a beast or anything.
