Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Scrambles! Per our conversation yesterday I threatened the ameracaunas with some KFC... Looks like it worked!

Oh - more good news. I was out refreshing the water and stuff since it's warm today and adding more straw to the run and I got a good look at their combs. It seems that the vaseline somehow stained them. It stained the feathers, too. Wilson and Maggie have a touch of actual frostbite on their tips but Penny's is still the worst. Not as bad as I was thinking though.

Not too bad considering that one is crippled and one is 4 years old. Although, I am not sure if Smoke will lay again. She is the lead hen and she can now retire with no worries.

Have fun Scramble55! I don't know why, but I actually enjoy "scooping poop" out of the run. The chickens like to get underfoot and see what on earth I'm doing. Sometimes the boss hen will get right in my face, and I have to warn her before she pecks my glasses or worse. I have two friendly EE's, Hawkeye and Big Girl that like to peck my jeans and hop on my shoulder if I'm squatting down. They have such quizzical expressions that it makes me laugh.

So... coop is clean. I pulled out a lot of poop piles out, threw some fresh bedding in and mixed it up. Then I topped it off with straw. The girls are not big on staying in the coop, so the poop piles dont often get mixed in by them scratching around in it. The girls have full feeders and clean water. Off I go to buy new dishes.

Tomorrow..... GAME ON!!!!
DHs family is originally from the Michigan/Wisconsin area and are big GreenBay fans, so it should be a great time watching the game.
