Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Cheeka - that is exactly why my kids don't watch commercials lol.

We're back in the deep freeze again after some pretty decent weather so I can't complain. The wind was really whipping so I shut the pop door halfway. I left it open far enough for them to get out in the morning but hopefully cut down on the wind quite a bit. I peered outside this morning when I got up, but only managed to establish that their light was on.

3 eggs yesterday. When I went out the second time, there were two blue eggs. One of them was hot. Given how cold it was, it must have been laid minutes before i went out. Gotta love a still warm egg.

Shew when it rains it pours! Had to take the Hubby to the ER last night. He was having severe stomach cramps and couldn't keep anything down. We got home about 330 this morning after some fluids, nausea meds and a CT Scan they told us it was probably viral gastritis.

I have a couple new layers! One lays a fabulous green egg, one lays a pinkish cream and then a light brown. Plus Bitty has started laying again so she will probably go broody after she lays a dozen. I have been getting a broken egg in the nest every couple of days. No shell pieces or anything just a sloppy mess. I put out more oyster shell so hopefully that will fix it. I still haven't hit a dozen in one day yet but hit 11 a couple of days ago. It should not be long now! I am going to be over run with eggs when they all get back to laying! I have 30 hens/pullets.
