Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

MC, once my copy is back in my hands, I'll mail it to you if you would like...

I've got a new handyman.

old handyman had to move away because the house he was renting, sold. so he moved where he could find steadier work and could live with his Dad til he figures out what to do next. I miss him already...he's been around a few times to bring me stuff he borrowed for jobs, like my power washer... I told him he could live here... I have space and he wouldn't have to pay rent if he would help me out... kind of felt silly telling him that but I really hate to see him go. anyway, I have a new one, he was here today and will build what I need for the back pen at the end of the week. it won't look like a circus tent anymore...

I just bought it. I finished what I was doing, watched part of a movie, and finally got around to logging into my Amazon account. But thank you!

Here is what I was up to!

I made my chili from scratch (okay, I cheated with the meat and kidney beans!) this morning.

From the crock pot @ 3:15, I had enough for 8 pints and 9 half pints. I only had 8 half pints warmed, so...

I made chili cheese dogs. These are Jalapeno filled dogs (helps to cover the taste of what you are really eating).

8:15 Five looong hours! My beautiful jars. This is what I bought a pressure canner for. Canning chili.

Good morning! The ground was covered in a thick frost, and the air a thick fog. I made the chickens a bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar and raisin.

When can I come over for breakfast?

Is Marie-Laure from cheeka's book? I haven't read it yet, so don't give anything away... pleeeeze! It's good, though, huh?

Love your new avatar!

well, no egg at 7am this morning. I thought,no big deal.
But low and behold, when I went out at 1:00pm to clean under roost, there was an egg. Yippee! 5 days in a row.

Chester loves to linger in bed, I was up for a full hour before he emerged. there was a time that I couldn't take a step without him right at my side. looks to me like he has fully healed from his past.

we had foggy misty and frosty for the morning too, but no frozen waterers. major thumbs up!

some of Gossy's chicks have tufty heads coming in - and some are going to be smooth for life, but boy are they cute! I will make an effort to get some individual photos this week.

Cressa's trio. I was wrong. 1 pullet, 2 cockerels. how quickly they change...! lol
