Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Quote: Is it possible that ducks are even more addictive than chicks??

I'm up to 13! I cleaned the nest this morning and found 11 more eggs...she was pretty mobile with the doz she hatched so I gathered them up and stuck them in the incubator! I might have stuck 3 chicken eggs in there too!!!

If those other 10 hatch I'm in trouble! They all looked like they had something in them tho!!!

I snuck this one in tonight so hopefully she takes it. Worried the others won't be accepted if they don't hatch soon!
Yes, I think it is very possible that ducklings are more addictive.

And there's the proof!

This one is going to grow up to be the duck version of the Dos Equis man. It's that knowing look.

I had them when I was a kid. Mel, a mallard type I found on the floor at the feed store under the brooders. Staff said it must have been a wild duck, so I got to keep it. Turned out to be a boy, of course, and he was shaped like a football and could fly really well. We got a khaki campbell female, Phoebe, for his companion, but he was always my baby. Year later, Phoebe hatched out 12 baby ducklings.

It's the pat pat when they're walking on the concrete that always got me. Never cried so hard as the day Mel disappeared. Something got him, feathers remained. Broke my heart.

Chicks when I get home. Yay!!!!!! A potpourri of babies.

Yeay!

it's been cold, for late Spring... temps in the 40's and 50's, rain... kind of a bummer really. we took Wrangler to a buffet yesterday, then to the mall, she has sensitive ears and cannot wear cheapo earrings. I got her 2 pairs. hearts with pink and purple gems, sterling silver and the other are tiny hoops, 10K gold, so she has earrings just like her Oma and me. we both wear small hoops. I'll have to take some pics of them, she's wearing the hoops and she adores them. I really thought she'd pick the hearts first, but nope... they are super fancy, she'll get a lot of pleasure out of them. and we picked up a couple of new movies.
today, we were hoping for nice weather, haven't watched any news or checked weather underground on the computer, but it's overcast and chilly... still early, fingers crossed.

love all the duckies! I love the slap slap sound on hard surfaces too. and the quacking... too cute

It has been so warm here the last few days. In the eighties. Sorry you haven't had that too.
