Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

No, its not the phone rings in the shower or buying eggs. Its how much you want them to lay. The more anxious you are the longer they'll hold out. Go out to them and say "I don't care if you never lay an egg". Say it with meaning for a couple of weeks and sure enough they'll believe you, and start to lay.

Thats a great idea. But I think I might say it like this "I don't care if you ever lay a egg but soon as I find four eggs in those nest boxes the scratch will start flowing again".........Think i'll go tell them right now while they are all lined up on the roost.

Still nothing. I found some of those colored plastic easter eggs that you put candy inside of . I filled them with sand, taped them togrther so they wouldn't come apart if they step on them and put them in the nest boxes. I'm trying to make them jealous and show them that I don't need them for eggs. I've got purple eggs, yellow eggs, blue eggs, and green eggs. Let them try to top that. Little heifers. Two can play that game.

LOL... The anticipation is so hard to bare. They will most likely squat first before they lay, even then it can take up to a month.

Like I said in my last post, I didn't get eggs until they were over 20 weeks old with all of them.

I ended up buying brown eggs from a farm nearby. I couldn't take it any longer.lol I hope you get your eggs soon!

lol My girls just started the squatting thing yesterday, its sooooo funny!! But one has been laying for a month and the other just started, so i dont know why they do the squatting. Makes me laugh though when i come in and they all squat down and stomp thier feet. Look like they are doing some sort of island dance haha.

I think I got slow learners or something. They can't sing the egg song. They can't do the squat, Can't stomp their feet, and they can't do the island dance. They are for sure addicted to scratch. And I guess i'm stuck with them now. Nobody else is going to put up with their BS.

Thats how Crackers was for me, she showed no signs, just started laying one day. I thought that Frightful had laid 2 eggs in a day, then it happened twice, I realized Cracker was laying too

They cant hold out forever!!
