.........TODAY WE LAID EIGHT

just AWESOME! and i LOVE the pie! you are so very creative!

i did not finish the enclosure today, but it's 95% done, and it's more finished than it looks in the new album i just posted, cuz i was running out of daylight, it was more important to get the work done, i can take more pics in the morning.
I'll finish the front screening tomorrow after work, run some vinyl over the top, install the roosts, and move the gang in!

omg, there is 100' of hardware cloth and 25' of poultry fence (that's at the top half of the front where the door has been installed)
i just have to finish lacing the very front of the "dome" in, should take about 20 minutes. then i need to vinyl the top, for some shade...
and they can come on in... they can chill with me and explore while i install roosts. i have 2 coops, one that's in one of the shots, and another that is made from an old farm apple crate. they will also get attached, but probably not til tomorrow... i can get the small Amish style one done maybe today... but i need help with the other, it weighs a ton. i do have a nice heavy duty hand truck with ratcheting strap... so maybe i can do it.... i also had a huge dying maple cut down, and i have big chunks of trunk, that i want to hand truck over, and place at the edges on the side, not just for decor, they are like 100lbs each, and ain't nothing gonna get them outta the way to dig under....
the amerigas dude will be happy tho', i left him a nice wide berth to get to the tank.
my battle wounds are looking good, no signs of infection... i walked right into the post for the guide wire and sliced the heck out of my thigh, and of course my fingertips all have multiple stab wounds from all that hardware cloth.... worth every drop of blood!

! Poor cheeka! I know the feeling! If i need some wood cut all I have to do now is say to my husband - is this how I turn the power on to the table saw? I never used power tools - like skill saw, before chickens, but it helps to be able to cut a piece to fit! Haha...it's hard to find scraps already te right length...wow, to have a two by four never used before...don't know what that is like. I think the pies would make a good coffee table book for whenever you need a laugh. Can't wait to see pics of the run...I need to put something up for a snow baffle, and to keep snow away from the auto door....hmmm...need some ideas. I use Epsom salts soak for those hand cuts...really fantastic stuff for keeping infection away, also great for puncture wounds..which always are a problem...and for only pennies a tx.
