LOL...thats funny and makes me second guess my decision not to have a rooster. Besides the way these nuts (hens) carry on like a peacock a rooster that crows a lot wouldn't even be noticed.They do seem less vocal as they get older, but I've noticed mine seem to do it to call the rooster over for an escort back to the flock, he comes running, down the hill, across the driveway..thunk thunk thunk thunk, over the rr tie through the garden thunk thunk thunk...through the yard...skids to a halt at the coop and crows. The hens runs over, then is immediately distracted by a bug or something, then they both meander back to the flock. He'll be dancing most of the way, her, mostly interested in sights along the way. Once in awhile he stops and turns his head slightly and gives me a long look, like...I AM important! Then, back to his rooster world. Comical critters.
