Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

An egg in my pocket does not break
But an egg in my hand? For goodness sake!
I feel it crush. I feel it crumble
I feel it flatten in a jumble
The yolk it drips. The yolk it plops
I really hope this soon stops!
Every day I am getting one
Every day! It is no fun.
They have their calcium. They have their feed
They have everything they could possibly need
So what is with the thin shell I get everyday?
For a week it has been this way!
She has been laying a hard but light
In the morning after the night
Now I am sad
But the dog is glad!
He gobbles it up
The spoiled little pup!

duck eggs... usually, I blow the egg, so I can have breakfast and an art project at the same time
 
I asked an old timer, and he assured me that my initial suspicion was correct. She is just at the end of her laying cycle, and will give me normal eggs again soon. Spring at the latest.

I got three eggs, but could only use two
I am used to more, but it will have to do
I can't wait until the Spring
It is the most eggciting thing!
I will have twenty girls laying!
And customers paying
To get my eggs of brown.
The best in town!
So for now I will be happy
Though egg production is crappy.
For by Christmas I will not be frowning,
I will be drowning!
In eggs galore
That is for sure!
