Hey everyone! I just got my first little ducking. She's 8 days old and I believe she has imprinted on me. I plan to keep her in the backyard/in the house, however, I have heard stories about others ducks flying away. I would hate for that to happen, but I don't even know if my breed can fly. She is a Rouen. Does anyone know whether or not they can fly, and if so, should I clip her feathers? Thank you in advance!

Nope, rouen ducks can't fly so theres no need to clip her wings :)

I have some rouens, they can fly a tad but not too far, enough to hop fences but mine have never left, if they do fly over they always come back. I honestly wouldn't clip any birds wings, none of my ducks, geese, chickens, turkeys, or Guineas have ever had clipped wings.

I agree with the other two posts if they are used to your backyard or farm they wont leave or fly away

We got Mallard ducks a LONG time go and now every spring they come back to my pond, and a fter a while then theres ducklings swimming with them.
