Should I Feed Hens Same Food as Chicks?

Just use an all flock type with oyster shell on the side

we think he was trying to pull her through the cage we are transitioning her to the big chickens coop in, and the wound is deep but not to the skull. Her left eye is swollen shut and we are keeping her separate from the other serama.

Back to the original questions, i didn't see any reason given for the layer feed recommend, though it appears someone thinks eztra calcium promotes laying? If so, that's mistaken. A hen lays like a human female ovulates. Biological clock. Something has to be really wrong to interrupt it, and a calcium pill doesn't alter that.

As to the injury? Chikens routinely survive far worse, often w/o treatment. I recommend neosporin after cleaning the wounds, help prevent secondary infections. Has been completely succrssful for me so far, though i've had few injuries in my flock that weren't immediately fatal (and inflicted by me with a SHARP! knife).
