I am skeptical of your claim that you were doing "chick research" as I have seen you reply to many, many threads here throughout the day. But that's beside the point.
As far as fighting back, I would not suggest anything so violent as those words imply. Log off the computer, do your homework, give your dad time to settle down. I would apologize for not getting your homework done, that it would be a priority in the future, and calmly explain that the chicks are too young to go outside. Tell him you are willing to be grounded or whatever else he thinks is appropriate if he feels you need to be punished, but to not take his anger out on the chicks.
I'm hoping once he has time to settle down he will be reasonable. Good luck!

He still might not be aware that they need heating after they’re born. If he wasn’t the one to get the chicks in the first place, or raise them, he might not be aware that they still need heat after they’re born.
