A Naked Neck, bred for neck feathers?

I've always liked the sound of "Jumbo Shrimp", but still confused.

Absolutely!!!!!! I put orange leg bands on all my Giants and blue ones on my Australorps to tell them apart when they run by me because they look so similar. A Giant has yellow feet on the bottom and an Australorp has pinkish grey on the bottom of their feet.:)Since you will be getting both, thought I would add that too!! Good luck.

Not to throw a monkey wrench into anything, but I have had both and the BA's were stupid and crazy. The BG's were very peaceful and sweet and laid better through the winter than the BA's.

My Australorps are some of the best birds I have EVER had.

Next to my Delawares they have the absolute best personalities. They really are lap chickens. They lay beautiful brown eggs for me everyday and I've never had an issue with internal laying. *knocks on wood* Even as chicks they're personable.

I've heard it takes much longer for Jersey Giants to mature, like up to 2 years to reach their full weight/type standards. My Aussies get big in one season!

I have both - in with a flock of 11 other chicken breeds including banties and they are sweet. One of my buff Orps, surprisingly, is the bully. She is also the one that gets jealous when anyone else is sitting on my lap...

I have BA`s and BAxAmericauna EE`s. They are all very nice birds. I love my BA rooster....he is very gentle and takes good care of the flock. I am tempted to introduce JG`s next year as I think they are very lovely too (from what I hear never having had them before myself). I agree that both is the way to go!
