Should I get my 20 week old D'Uccle a buddy?

Hi, I had 6 original birds, then added three (2 d'uccles and a silkie). The six and the three got along ok, but didn't fully integrate. Then two of the three turned out to be roosters, and I had to rehome them. That left the little d'uccle hen alone. She is ok with the other birds, but they definitely make sure she's the odd chicken out and she is alone outside alot. It's heartbreaking, as she is very sweet. If I get another hen around the same age and put it in with the d'uccle, am I helping or inviting trouble? Anyone do this before??

I *think* that you will be inviting trouble, as integration itself is a not a peaceful thing. I think if you introduce another new chicken, the others will pick on her as well as the d' uccle. With time, she will be a full member of the flock. I know how you feel, I recently introduced a few new Australorps, and that was a stressful few weeks!
