Should I get Pigeons?

With neighbors like that you are going to have to be very careful and train your pigeons well to come in to their loft when you call, otherwise they will be found roosting and pooping on her roof and they can get confiscated if she complains. Get something pretty, too. It will most likely help! And you won't want to fly all kinds of pigeons and I hear you shouldn't fly doves.

i flew my ringneck doves, though they do go off for while with wild ones, and maybe just lucky mine nested paired prior to free flying, that they always came back, usually bringing friends. try white fantails, white homers, or some type of fancy looking breed, or extreame tumbler (extreame rollers may crash into things or areas of theirs disturbing them in general or making a mess one way or other). only feed your birds in evening or after they will be in for the day, that way all to most of droppings will be were they roost over night and no one can complain about poop. had a neighbor a while after moved here and finally noticed they were here and my pets coming when called even, ask about them being loose and pooping every where, and i was calm and just pointed out her area was full of un cleaned up piles on older piles ect of dog poop, and her dogs were loud aggressive, filthy and disobediant. when aninal control showed up i signaled my birds to scatter, kit, and then stay up on roof. showed the man that there was no poop anywere from my birds or any (as my flights like to chase the other birds), and then when she started up again and yelling trying to control her dogs, when i said about her noise, smell and safety issue of her dogs with all the children that live close, he then started asking her stuff. she said the birds being loose were still a health hazard, i then called my birds down to go in and explained how theyre trained to come to me and kitbox or cages inside my open back door, so werent even eating the other food from feeders ect or drinking from my own pond right by back door, that he could then see for himself as they then were given food call as they dog piled around to get their feed and water. i actually dont know why, but you can condition pigeons to the point were they get fixated on doing other things, and seem to ignore food or water till they are given signal and suddenly remember or realize theyre hungry then eat the food left out. maybe theyre not so smart and i read more into them.. my dog and cat does it too, so maybe its just conditioning and that theyre not too hungry to bother looking for old or other food when better stuff to do. my pigeons do however ive noticed eat bugs, grass, and weeds too, particularly loving dandilions, and leafy greens like youd see cultivated versions of in grocery.

they do attract BOPs which ive heard aussie land, and new york neighbors get angry over that love to feed song birds ect.
