Should I go ahead with the incubator? I'm a little scared!

Should I get the advance EX or just the advance? Auto humidity control or no?
I mean the advance is much cheaper but if the EX is better then I'm willing to pay extra.. You guys tell me because I don't want to buy one and think later "hmm maybe I should have gotten the other one".

i only use EX version and they are great

no messing about with humidity as i can never get filling troughs right

its so simple to use and you can set humidity and forget about eggs till day 18 and then up humidy for lockdown and forget about it till hatch

obviiously you need to maintain your candling but even then when humidity drops when you open it to candle the auto pump will correct that within seconds

its that great

if you bu ythe Octogon advance range then you can always try it and see and then by the humidity pump later as the octogen range is EX enabled and can be used with ot without pump and pumps are available to buuy seperate

Hmm, which one to choose... I may just go with the EX... Would you know how long shipping takes? Like how many weeks? I see that you live in the UK so you may not be able to answer, I live in CA and I'd like to order it and have it arrive around the 20th of next month, either before or a few days after.

I really want a brinsea incubator but my mom refuses to put her credit card online. If I had the digital kind I'd be hatching like crazy! Another question, we have our air cooler on for most of the day so would I have to mess with the hovabator temp gauge alot because of that?
Get an over-the-counter card for the amount of the incubator plus their stinkin' fees.
I use a hovabator in the basement and it keeps pretty steady. Only problem I have is at lockdown, when I take out the egg turner the temp drops :-\\.
The wafer is affected more by drops in air pressure than temp fluctuations.
Good luck with your choice.

I'm gonna go ahead and incubate but I'm gonna wait until I get a better incubator that I'm comfortable around.. I found package online but I'm not sure if I can trust the site, what do you guys think? http://www.drmass.com/brinsea-mini-...om-pack.html?gclid=CKaxv_ShjLICFWjhQgodPwsAZg
i purchased that but returned it as its not the EX version

in the end i brought the ecoglow and overview hi intensity and overscope and it worked out cheaper to buy them seperate with the added bonus of having an EX version with a pump

I think I might go ahead and buy the classroom pack, while buying that other stuff separate may have been cheaper for you, I have to add shipping to the cost too. I don't mind if it's not the EX, I've read some pretty good reviews about the regular advance, plus I'm not the type that forgets about the humidity and incubation, I check everyday so if the water gets low I'll fill it up.

I got it in the mail today! Yay!
I already 7 eggs in there too! Which way are you supposed to put the eggs in though? The round end away from the water pot in the middle or the pointy end of the egg out? I looked at pictures on the box and it looks like the round end is away from the pot but some pictures online have the round end to the water pot in the middle.. I'm confused.

it doesnt matter but people including myself have found that they point upwards better if pointy end is towards the dome and blunt end towards the water

thats you main concern however you put them that pointy end need to be tilted downwards

Someone else who uses the mini advance told me to go with blunt end towards the dome so that's what I've been doing and so far so good. They're on day 11 and moving around like crazy!
I'm not sure how to keep the pointed end downwards, when the turner turns the eggs it messes with the way they're positioned.. They look all fine to me.
