Today is day 22 with no pip for one of my eggs I am getting worried I think its alive but I am worried because if he needed a pip I don't know what to do I have never had this happen before I am wondering if I should help and give the egg a starting pip or what any help is appreciated

Ok you’re gonna want to candle the egg. If you see Any movement Probably still viable. If you can’t see movement it’s either sleeping or dead but to make sure get a bowl of warm water about 99°F. Then examine egg to make sure there’s no holes or cracks anywhere. The next step placed the egg gently in the bowl of warm water and see if it ever so slightly rocks back-and-forth

Oh and if you could post a photo of the egg when you candle it so I can see the air sac please

Don't ever put a hatching egg in water unless you want it to die....:(
Float tests are for "eating" eggs NOT "hatching" eggs.
Candle and see if its still moving. If you can see the beak moving around in the air cell and its chirping, you can make a tiny hole in the air cell end.

It’s actually called water candling When using fertile eggs. It does not kill the chick unless there’s any cracks in the egg. It is very handy when incubating dark colored eggs to determine if it is fertile or not fertile and If it is alive or if it is not alive
