Does anyone know if I Should help my chicken that piped facing downward on the bigger side of the egg? It’s chirping a lot but isn’t making much progress.

My eggs hatched Sunday and 2 or 3 started like that, they hatched just fine, oh and congratulations!

How long since it pipped?

Usually the chicks will get out just fine.
They chirp to make contact with the broody to let her know that they will soon be out. You can talk to your hatching chicks which will reassure them and they will know your voice from the start and recognize it in the future.

Helping them too early will often lead to their death as they are still absorbing the yolk for many hours after pipping.

Wait at least 24 hours and then reassess.

Agree wait the full 24 hours. Pipping on the bottom of the fat end is not a cause for concern. They take breaks and often it will seem slow. Chirping is normal and a good sign.
