So I got some eggs in the mail and put them in the incubator Thursday. My temp was perfect, right between 99 and 100 that is until last night. I looked at the thermometer and it read 104 so I turned it down just a tad. When i went to bed it was just over 99. when I got up this morning the temp was 93!! So i turned it up and got it to the normal temp. I was gone for about 5 hours this afternoon and when I got home it was 102! I cant seem to get it to stay steady anymore!

Do you think the eggs are ruined? should i just order some new ones and give up on these? Any input would be very much appreciated!

I wouldn't stress too much... the temp swings could have impacted the overall hatch rate, but still, you will most likely get a few chicks! (Even if it's less than expected.) However, you can always order more eggs after the hatch! Good luck!

X2 on the not stressing. It is the long term temp issues that cause trouble. Get it stable and you should be fine.

Is it a forced air? If not, you should look into adding a computer fan. It stabilizes them enough so they stay the same temperature! Just do a search up there ^^ . Many people have done this with great results!

104 for button eggs is a bit high, only b/c they are smaller, but as long as it didn't stay there for hours on end you should be fine. GL with your hatch

I also have an LG incubator. I have 22 silkie eggs on day 18 (lockdown started today) and the temperature has been very steady. I have a fan in mine, and that may be the reason its working so well. Good luck

p.s. I did candle a few and the ones that i did seem to be pretty dark on the inside. None of them really glowed.
