Should I keep the Brown Leghorns / Welsummers / WHAT ELSE?

Thank you for the replies...the only other problem is...since so many chicks look like chipmunks..we have to be convinced these are in fact leghorns!

They do seem taller than the rest, pinkish legs.

Here are photos from the past week. If anyone could help me, I would really appreciate it. I know I won't have a problem selling on CL...we have plenty of other chicks to keep too

Sorry these are with my camera phone but you should be able to see them just fine

We have 4 of them, all grouped here

The brown leghorns will have yellow legs - I know when they are really little it's sometimes hard to tell - you might give it a while longer to ID the yellow legged chipmunks. Also the BLs will be slimmer built chicks than the heavy breeds.

I agree with others about their flightiness saving them from predators that may catch a heavier bird. They are fantastic foragers and also the feed-to-production benefit makes the Leghorn a no-brainer for those who value egg production above "personality."

I think brown leghorns are pretty. My white ones are very flighty, they take off as soon as they see me. Thn they realize it's me and that I usually have food and turn around and run back, lol. They dont let me touch them, but they don't go far either. Considering I have to shove the others out of my way to be able to walk I kind of like it that way.

I just keep hoping they are not leghorns but their demeanor says it really doesn't matter...they freak out every time and make everyone else do it too. When we go to the brooder, we have 3 different breeds of black chicks and they all just walk to the edge to say hi..these brown ones start flying everywhere, freaking out and if you try to touch one they just go bizark. They then get every one else running. I will give it more time if people think I should ..and I think they are beautiful, but they are nuts!!

I just took these pics..and yes, it does look like the legs may be turning yellow.

Yes, that's a Welsummer. There are five in this pic. Two more to the right one in the back facing backwards and one to the far left you can just see the side of her head.

Then even though these are flighty as hell, I think they are welsummers. When I looked up pictures of the 2 chicks, the welsummers were the one with this beaded white streak thru it, they brown leghorns did not have this. Plus, the Rainbow Pullet pack is an asst of all different breeds that produce different colored eggs. I was already sent a bunch of chicks that look like white leghorns..but I could be wrong there too..ARGH!!!!

My Welsummers are not flighty at all. In fact they are some of the calmest chicks/pullets I have every had. I have one Light Brahma Roo in this bunch and as it turns out two Welsummer Roos who don't even act it. I never got leghorns because of the flighty unfriendly reputation. Maybe someone with more experience with breeds can tell you better than I. If they are Welsummers, so far as I can tell they are really nice birds. If you look mine have pinkish legs, not the white or yellow.
