In the Brooder
I am currently on day 8 with seven shipped eggs. I am keeping them upright in the incubator in individual cut down egg carton cups due to detached and saddle shaped aircells, and tilting the eggs 3-5 times a day.
I have heard to keep them upright for hatching is the best way, but with this style of incubator, I don't think it would be wise to do that. Because I had to cut the egg carton cups apart individually to fit in the incubator, I worry that once chicks start hatching and moving around, they are going to knock the other eggs out of the cups and cause them to crack.
Would you leave them in the cups or lay them down for hatching, with them having wonky air cells?
