Should I let my broody sit again

Welcome to BYC

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of the chicks! I think the best thing to do at the moment would be to either get her some day-old chicks to raise, or put her back in the broody breaker (it takes 3-4 days in the breaker, on average, before a hen snaps out of it). Hens lose up to 25% of their body weight during a proper broody spell, due to inactivity and little food intake, so it's best to not let them sit longer than necessary.

Hi, thanks! I just got ahold of my neighbor who gave me 5 one day old chicks! My hen seems to be taking to them and just left the roost with them to eat...I hope this is a good sign

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. Sorry for the loss of your chicks. You've been given some good advice by the other BYC members. Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in hatching your chicks.

Great that you were able to find chicks for her so quickly! Hope everything goes well and she is a wonderful mother! :fl
