should i lock the coop at night

I LIVE IN THE COUNTRY AROUND MY COOP IS A WOVEN FENCE FOR MY SHEEP AND GOATS AND NEAR THAT IS A ELECTRIC FENCE FOR THE PASTURE. I CLOSE THE PASTURE FOR THE SHEEP AND GOATS AT NIGHT AND LOCK DOWN THE COOP.I USE TO LEAVE IT OPEN UNTILL A RACOON GOT IN BY A WINDOW

THEM BUGERS CAN SCALE A FENCE CLIMB A TREE ,DIG A HOLE NEED I SAY MORE . WE ALSO HAVE FOXS,CAYTOES,(HOW EVER YOU SPELL IT )
I WOULD RATHER STUMBLE OUT THE DOOR AS THE CRAZY CHICKEN LADY , WITH MY OLD BRIGHT COLORED FANNEL PJ'S ,HAVE THE NEIBORS LAUGH AS I MOVE ACROSS THE LAWN WITH A CUP OF COFFEE

Absolutely this. Underestimate raccoons at your own peril. Those d*mn things could learn to pilot the Concorde if it meant they could steal a chicken. Worst thing is, they don't just kill one to eat, they kill them for fun.
