Here is the first chapter: I will edit it when I get to the part where Carolina and Mik do the ceromony.

Plot: a long time ago we went to war and we won but only chicago lived. the rest of the world was demolished. or so you were told. we were divided into 5 factions.every one was to be trained in some sort of weapon in case we were attacked, if by any chance there were survivors we needed to be able to defend ourselves.

- Abnegation ~ the selfless. they always give to others and are practically vegetarians. they wear white and tan. don't look in mirrors, they believe they don't need to see themselves. they are trained in knives.

- Candor ~ the honest. they never lie and always speak what's on their minds. they wear black and white formal clothes. they are trained in hand to hand combat

- Amity ~ the peaceful. they always see the glass as half full, are always kind and they work in the fields outside the gate. they wear orange and red. they are trained in pitchforks. (they do work in fields)

- Erudite ~ the intelligent. they are geeks that wear blue and white. they are the center of attention and leaders of us.they are trained in swords.

-Dauntless ~ the brave. they are kind of crazy and very brave. they are the police and protectors of our city.they wear black. they are the definition of crazy. they are trained in all weapons and tactics.

-And divergent. this is very rare and if they find out you will be killed. so don't tell anyone if your test results were inconclusive.

you are special, fear cannot control you and you are all 5 factions not just one.

one day the divergents will rise and bring back peace and harmony, but until then you need to fit in and stay alive.

Chapter1: The choosing ceromony.

Missy, a dauntless seventeen year old, who was born a dauntless and stayed a dauntless, and was a divergent, got off her bed and got dressed in some denim shorts and a black tank top. Her black tattoo of a vine stretching from her stomach around her back and to her shoulder was showing. She put about 10 or 11 knives on her. Today was the day that most young people would get their factions. If they were divergent, they found out yesterday. Today was the faction ceremony. She was going to have to train so many new dauntless people, and have to choose which ones to cut . She pulled on her black tennis and pulled her long hair into a ponytail. She grabbed her katana and slung it over her back. "Jackson! wake up! its ceremony day, look okay." she yelled through Jackson's door. She could hear his snoring come to a stop and he got up. Missy walked outside and jumped onto the train. when it got to a certain point she jumped off the moving train and rolled down the hill along with all the other dauntless people. they were screaming and yelling startling the other factions. "Whhoooooooo!!!!!!!!" she yelled and held up her katana, causing some boy nearby to wet her pants. She laughed and went inside to take her seat in the warriors section.

Sam, who's real name was Samantha, was a seventeen year old, she was born a Dauntless and stayed a Dauntless, she was gonna train the initiates, on her test she got Dauntless, Erudite, and Candor on her test, so was obviously a divergent, got up and moaned. Today they got new initiates. She put a black tank top and black leather jacket on but left it unzipped. Along with black shorts and black lace up boots. She put a knife in each boot and a gun in her waist band. Sam brushed her long blonde hair. Her left upper arm bore a lightning bolt and her right ankle had a dove. The nape of her neck had an arrow shooting towards her heart as well. "Okay." She jogged out the door and jumped on the train.

Jason, who was an eighteen and a half year old Amity, who came from Candor, and wasn't a divergent got out of bed and put on a colorful tie and pants. He always wore bright colors, and he loved it, and today he had to look special, because there would be new amity students coming in, he would have to train them in pitchforks. It was an odd weapon, but it was useful. Jason went down stairs and started to walk. He watched the dauntless jump off the train and scare so many people. He shook his head and went inside to take his seat in the warriors section. Anyone who was in leader ship and a trainer, sat in the warriors section, it was a high honor.

Kilex, who was an eighteen year old, who came from Amity, and was a divergent, woke with a jolt. It was her test. She rubbed her head and swiftly put on her clothes. Then, she put her hair in a long plait and and looked in the mirror for a couple of seconds. Kilex turned away and walked out of the small, gray house. She walked to her line, and then noticed a guy... he had good looks and her face suddenly became red. That guy was Jason. Jason looked up and saw a girl staring at him. He gave a polite wave and small smile, then turned back to his conversation with another person in leader ship.

Sam jumped off the train and jogged into the building where the Choosing Ceremony would be and sat with her faction. Anna, who was a fifteen year old Dauntless who came from Abnegation, and was a divergent, joined the other initiates for Dauntless, moving quietly.

Noa, or Noaelle who was a twelve year old, who was from Erudite, and was a divergent, but didn't know it, watched her parents quietly.

"Welcome!" a blonde woman said, quieting everyone. "yesterday you took the test. you were told what would be best for you. But today, you get to choose which faction you will be in for the rest of your life." she said holding her hands. her name was Jeanine Matthews, she was the leader of the erudite, and wore a blue suit for women. "Now when I call your name, you will come up and take the knife, making a small slice in your hand. then you will drop your blood into one of these five bowls. each one represents a faction." she said pointing to the knife and the five white bowls. She sighed and smiled a thin smile. She walked over to the bowl and pulled out a piece of paper. she said looking at the crowd waiting for the person to come up.

Missy got bored and sat back making small talk with someone beside her, waiting for somebody to chose dauntless.

Jason was intent, he was waiting for the person to come up, hopefully choosing amity.

Varrisa, waited patiently. She knew not many would choose abnegation, but she had to be ready if they did.

Fraun, who was an eighteen year old Erudite, whom used to be a Dauntless, and wasn't a Divergent, was smiling like an idiot raising his eyebrows at nearby girls. His hands were behind his hand and he was slouching. He didn't care what people thought of him, he was best in erudite, which was why he sat in the warriors section.

Valin, who was a nineteen year old Candor, who used to be an Abnegation, and was a Divergent, lit a small cigarette in the back. He didn't like sitting and preferred to watch from a faraway distance. His dark brown hair kept falling in his face and he would have to blow it out of the way. He was thinking of just chopping it off, besides most people in candor had short hair anyway.

Kilex sat with her brother. She was scared, but not to scared... she then swallowed hard, waiting for Jeanie to call her name.

Jocelyn, who also goes by Celyn or Jo, Jesperson, was a sixteen year old, whom was an Amity and is a divergent, sat with her faction, wondering how her parents would take her choice of faction. She twisted the hem of her shirt, just wishing for the choosing ceremony to be over.

Anna, whom used to be an Abnegation, then chose Dauntless, and is a Divergent, watched her choose Dauntless and looked around the group, wondering who else would choose Dauntless.

Dauntless cheered loudly causing some people nearby to flinch. One girl got out of her seat and gave it up for Ivorian. Jeanine smiled and drew the next name. " Kilex Sinfrost." she said looking around.

Celyn looked around at the others. The Dauntless were always a rowdy crowd to be around, and always so unpredictable. She brushed her hair back nervously.

Kilex hesitated. She kissed her brother on the cheek and rose from her chair. She slowly walked up to the bowls, with her long brown plait swaying as she walked, her blue eyes shone with shyness, and her long gray dress outlining her braid. She picked up the knife and slowly sliced her hand. Then, she scanned the bowls. She let a drop of blood fall into a bowl: Dauntless.

Jeanine forced a smile as she went over to the name bowl to call the next name as Kilex went off the stage. She sat down after another person got up and gave her their seat. Of course they again cheered loudly. She plucked another tan piece of paper and called out another name: "Annabelle Barlow." She dropped the paper into the trash can next to her and waited for the girl to come up.

Missy rolled her eyes as the second person chose dauntless. she wish she could tell them that they had only a small chance at being in dauntless. at least a 3rd of them were going to be cut from the list and become faction less, but people just didn't know this and she was allowed to tell them, but she would do her best to train them and make it hard for the leaders to choose who to cut.

Anna stood and made her way to the stage. She glanced to the bowls and picked up the knife. She quickly made a small cut on her hand and held her hand over the dauntless bowl. She put the knife down and confidently made her way to dauntless' section. Sam hid a laugh as more people chose Dauntless. 'They'll never make it.' She thought. 'They can try at least.' She shrugged. Dauntless cheered and some people from nearby sections started worrying. They were afraid that everyone would choose dauntless and nobody would be brave enough to choose something else or remain in their faction. A nice handsome boy moved out of his seat and gave it up to Anna. The boy raised his eyebrows at her then went to the back. It was just tradition to give up your seat, for some reason. Jeanine walked back up to the bowl and drew another name. "Jocelyn Jesperson." she left the stage for the girl and sat back down in her seat in the front row.

Anna smiled and took the seat, looking back to the stage for the next person to choose.

Missy went over to Sam and whispered, "I wish I could tell them, that they only have a slight chance. It's just not fair. If they knew they wouldn't choose us and we would get the really brave ones, not just wanna bes. Missy scoffed and looked at the 3rd girl sit down. These girls were going to get pummeled.

Kilex sat beside Anna and whispered. "Hey." Anna looked over at Kilex "Hey"

Jocelyn stood, glancing at her parents as she got up to the front of the room. She cut her palm and walked over to the Erudite Bowl. Her blood dripped into the water, and she hurried to the Erudite section, wishing everything would be over.

"You excited?" Kilex smiled. "Yes, this should be interesting." Anna replied and smiled
Jocelyn got a polite applause and a shake from Jeanine. Somebody offered her their seat, and went to the back.

"Ya... but did you see Jason." Kilex said, looking over Anna. "Jason?" Anna asked. "He's in a different fraction..." Kilex softly sighed, eyes glazed.

Jeanine went back up to the stage. "Noaelle Strewning." She went back down and sat down. Noa went to the stage and over to the bowls. She held the knife , debating a moment longer, then cut her hand and let the blood drip into the eridite bowl. She decided to stay with her faction. She put the knife down and went to the Eridite section. Noa's parents smiled as she stayed with her faction. She took her original seat and Jeanine smiled polity shaking her hand. Jeanine walked back up and pulled another name. "Ryan Jesperson." she turned around and sat back down in her seat. Everyone tensed as they waited. he was the first boy called. Noa smiled as she took her seat. Fraun smiled and nodded at Noa. He was respectable and very spunky. He wore blue and black, with some weird tennis. He was sort of the odd one out, which was why he was the trainer. Ryan, whom was a seventeen year old Amity, and wasn't a divergent, stood in an easygoing manner, walking up to the front of the room. The cut stung slightly, but he didn't mind the pain. He approached the stones of Abnegation, watching his blood drip on them. He approached the Abnegation section, sitting with his new faction. Instead of getting anything, he got a hug from a few people and was given a seat by a nice elderly woman.

"Carolina." Carolina, a sixteen year old Candor, and a divergent, went up she slit her hand and dropped her blood in the Amity bowl. Amity clapped as Carolina went up to her new faction. She didn't pay attention to any one else's choices

"Kaleb." Kaleb, a seventeen year old Candor, and diveregent, came up and sliced his hand, he dripped his blood in the dauntless bowl, dauntless cheered and clapped, and Misyy just rolled her eyes.

"Mik." Mik, a sixteen year old Candor, who wasn't divergent, came up. She dripped her blood in the Candor bowl, she was best friends with Carolina and had to chose the same faction if she ever wanted to see her again. Mik sat down with candor as everyone clapped for her.
