Should I or shouldn't I?

All right. I did it. She now has 4 eggs she is sitting on. She knows it too she pushed out the fake egg from under her. I know most of the eggs are fertile cause when ever we eat eggs 4 out of 5 eggs have a bullseye. Wish me luck.

Hi there, You were the one I read yesterday and had questions about how long you wait til you pull the eggs if you think they aren't going to hatch. Also, last night I picked Athena up (my beautiful black alstralope) and her belly was completely bare. Is that normal?

Thanks,
Margaret

Wanted to tell you. Cleo (My Blue Silkie Hen) who had been sitting on nothing for over a month and I finally gave her eggs 3 weeks ago tomorrow has pips under her tonight. We have had weather in the teens and the weather man is calling for huge snow starting tomorrow. She is in the barn and is doing great. Can not wait to see how many she hatches. She has 5 standard size eggs under her.

That is gonna be exciting. My silkies each went broody about 2 weeks after they started to lay. Mine were a little doppy about it. They haven't gone broody again, but they will only be 1 year in April. I have the date I set them on the calander and day 28 marked. I will try to candle around day ten. Hope your broody is a mama hen soon.
