I recently ordered 6 chicks from an online hatchery born on 09/06/22 and they were a day late in the mail and arrived 09/08/22, there are (1 white and 1 black silkie bantams, 1 Mille fleur D'uccle, 2 b/b/s orpingtons, and 1 salmon favorelle). The D'uccle and Black silkie are about the size of a half dollar and were wobbly but able to eat and drink the first two days. On day 3 I noticed Pasty butt on the black silkie and D'uccle and cleaned them and the D'uccle is doing great. The black silkie on the other hand is not doing well, she is TINY the same size as the D'uccle while the white silkie is close in size to the SF and thriving. This morning her butt was black and caked with feces so I cleaned her up. It seems either she or the other chicks ripped the down from her butt overnight, she also is missing down on her head from I suspect the bully SF pecking at her. She is very wobbly and after cleaning her has liquid poop. Should I quarantine the black silkie until she is stronger? I bought a seperate brooder plate and another brooder set up for the Bantams incase they had problems being so small with the orpington chicks. She is not eating but drinking, I will post pics of her bottom. I feel bad separating her but she seems to be unwell and being bullied because of it. Any advice would be great, I've raised ducks before and chicks are 100% new to me.

Hello! Can you give her nutri drench and raw yolk? She needs some high energy nutrition. You can dip your finger into it and put it into her beak so she can drink it.

Do it very slow so she doesn't aspirate.
Thank you! Should I mix a drop of egg yolk and drop of nutridrench together or do them separately? How often should I give her yolk/nutridrench?

Have you tried wetting the feed to make a mash? Sometimes even the crumbles are hard for a young chick to eat. I agree I would be getting her on electrolytes and vitamins right away. Her bottom feathers may also be missing from the pasty butt, the poop tends to grab to that baby fuzz like glue and pull them out. It's not uncommon for a chick with pasty butt to end up with a bare bottom.

I tried and she won't eat it. I grind their food up to a crushed sand consistency which is working for the rest of them.

I would give seperately, as much as the chick wants. It may take a little while. Poor baby 😥
Should I have her alone? I got them to have a few licks of nutridrench and egg yolk and they made a mess of it and now the d'uccle is pulling at the silkies down feathers.
