Should I remove heat for my 6 week olds?

6 week old chicks. In my 8ftx12ft coop and have been since hatch. Started in an enclosed brooder with lamp and plate, graduated to open top brooder with just a plate, and are now in my open frame 3x6 with a lamp only at night and full access to the big hens. We are down to the 40s at night. I would like to fully integrate the chicks. Is 6 weeks too early to remove heat and pull their frame or should I leave them for another few weeks? I have 11 little and 5 bigs.

Do they still get under it?Unless they’re cold-hardy breeds I would leave it a little longer.

You don't mention breed or feathering type, but if they're standard birds in good health they could've been off heat entirely a couple of weeks ago. If in doubt, this is a good way to test it:
