My flock only uses these 3 bottom nesting boxes and was wondering the 3 on top if I could just get rid of these 2 walls. They only use the top as a jumping area to get to the roosts. If I get rid of the walls can I fill it with sand so when they poop? They just use those to poop in and to make it easier for me. I dont know what I'm trying to say. It's hard typing things.

Yes, that makes perfect sense to do IMHO. Rule of thumb is for every 4 or 5 chickens, 1 nesting box. Use that as your guide

thank you I have 6 girls and one rooster. All my 6 girls either lay in all 3 bottom ones or wait to use the same one. we made extra incase some were picky but they only rarely lay in the top left if they need too but haven't anymore.

Yea lol. We already added a poop board to the top roost but the chickens that sleep on the bottom or have there butts turned poop all over the top nesting boxes. Plus it'll give them more room to do whatever
You can also try the poop hammock, you just have to stretch the hammock past the perches.

I think this is more of the design you are thinking of, I think the sand Idea is great!
Of course, you sand/litter spot wouldn't be as well planned out, but same kind of train of thought.

Thank you and I might have an idea now I can see a picture of it. Instead of the lower perch I might add a roost above that sand area like the second picture and get rid of the one I have. I dont know yet though. My 1 silkie loves to roost by the window and is never on top so I have to make it for her lol
