Should I sell my breeders or sell their eggs or hatch them out or what

Steve,

I can't believe turkeys are so cheap out there! Even here in rural East Texas a jake goes for $35-45.

Alot of people around here raise turkeys so the price is low. I could drive 2 hours west to Raleigh and get more.

Steve

I have sold every extra jake that I have had for $35. The only one that I have left is a Chocloate. He is about 10 months old. It is very hard to find turkeys around here so I am lucky!

I'd be interested in hearing some of your marketing techniques. I agree with you. I make videos to go with all of my craigslist ads and try to create good copy. I'd love to hear some of your ideas.

I cracked a couple open the other day and noticed that the yolk was ALOT thicker than a chickens egg. Is that normal?

Yes that's normal (for us).

Ok, I want to know as well. Since I am starting to sell my chicken eggs and duck eggs I will need some good ideas. I am in the middle of making a really nice sign. I now have a trio of Bronze turkeys. The girls are not laying eggs yet. I think they are about 7 or 8 months old. I just got a tom yesterday that maybe a couple months older.

I have recently become a widow....... ouch, never actually wrote that before let alone say it. Anyway, I have to find a way to make some money. I now have no income other then the workers comp that I'm on. So, any help will be greatly appreciated.

I would love to assist both of you, I hate hijacking a thread though, not to mention everyones ads would be different anyway. So just PM me and we'll get you guys rockin'!
CRJ, that had to have been tough, I feel for you. No matter what anyone tells you, you CAN make money on birds, I do and so do a lot of others.
