I don't know when it happened....the last couple of days, I have been out of commission after oral surgery...but one of my hens is injured. I'm not sure if she got it caught on the fence, or if one of the other hens did it, but she's missing a piece of her comb by the looks of it. I will include photos. (my husband was doing my chores....he didn't notice anything....)

I don't know what to put on it? By now it is dried up and scabbed over. She is active and eating and drinking fine. Although is nervous of the other hens, and tries to keep her distance. I am not sure if it's because they caused this, or if it's because they are picking on her because she is injured.

But I'm not sure what to do. They are about 18-19 week old leghorns. I can separate her if it would be a good idea. Next to the other ones so she wouldn't be completely alone, just separated from them. And if I do, for how long? (oops, didn't mean for the last photo to be so big!)

Thanks!
Angie

I would seperate her for a few days. Looks like the pecking order may be a bit rough on her. The others will more than likely peck at her injuries. Put a bit of neosporin on her to help with her wounds. Just keep an eye on her and she'll be fine.
