Should I take her eggs?

my goose has been setting up nest since the beginning of April. There was a nicely organized nest full of eggs and she would occasionally sit on them overnight, yesterday when I went out the nest was rather messy, some eggs were knocked out of the nest and out of the shelter. She still hasn't committed to sitting on the nest full time either. There's got to be 20-25 eggs in the nest at this point. She is three years old in May and has yet to sit successfully. What do you think? Should I just take all the eggs and incubate a few of the top ones or give her a bit more time?

Ok thanks! Yeah I wasn't planning on letting her keep anymore, we wouod have gladly eaten them if I had any idea she was going to waste them all.

Update: I didn't get out there to collect her eggs yet and yesterday she started sitting full time. She has pushed qute a few eggs out of her nest (I assume the old ones), and seems to be commited to sitting. For once I'm glad I procrastinated! Will know next month of she succeeds :)

If i were you i would leave only 5-6 eggs in the nest otherwise she won't have any goslings at all. She will try and keep all of them warm but she won't be able.

The eggs falling out of her nest is because there are too many eggs in the nest when she tries to turn them. As she turns the eggs she by accident pushes eggs out of her nest (old and new ones). All the eggs out of her nest could've been good developing eggs so limit the eggs in her nest. And discard the eggs around her nest so she isn't confused.

Just trying to help as i really hope you get goslings!

Best of luck ;)

Thanks! She actually kicked all of them out except 7-8, I went and cleaned them up today and got a peek at her nest (risked some serious goose anger to do so haha). So I'm hopeful that in June we will see some goslings!
