Should I trim my chickens beak?

Actually I do recall about 7 yrs ago. A lady brought us a stray hen she said she found wondering down the road and brought to us thinking it was ours.
It had massive overgrowth for a beak. After we quarantined it for a couple weeks and inspected it, we put her in with our egg layers. She was banded with a color code. We named her J-lo. It took some time but pecking and pecking repetition in our sandy run, it corrected it's self.
We still have her today.

Are the roosts 2x4s?
That also helps, my chickens trim on the roost board. Can't really afford to redo a whole run in sand and anytime I add sand or add a tub of sand to the coop they just turn it to filth instead of using it to clean or eat.

Generally no you don't

I do that rarely as a last resort before culling if they are bad bullies or consistent egg eaters, so far, it worked every time for me, and never caused the hens any problem I could see. if I was a hen I would prefer to have my beak trimmed rather than culled
