should i trim their nails??

i bought 2 silkies as pets from a poultry market and their nails are really long. Should i use people nail clipper or the dog type? any advise on how to do it? Considering that these silkies have livd their whole lives in cages they are ridiculously calm, they come right up to me and i can pick hem up, so it shouldn't be a problem on holding them.
Their feet are also very distorted and they have little toes growing out of the big toes, will this effect their walking and is their anything i can do about it

I don't know about the little toes growing out of the regular toenail but I do know that you can cut hens nails with dog nail clippers.

The little toes growing out of big toes are a breed trait. Many breeders go years trying to get good toes. I use dog clippers they work great!!!
