I bought 3 bators from a woman last year.. she told me she stored her eggs in her cool basement routinely for a month and had great hatches..

I see you already loaded your bator.. good for you.. I like people who think outside the box..

guinea hens often lay 20 or more eggs in their hidden nests and hatch most of them.. and I do not believe they turn them before incubation.. all the nests I found, the eggs were set firmly in place and packed so tightly, I don't they could all be turned daily..

I wish you luck on your "maiden" voyage with your new bator..

I had a batch of Indian Runner ducks that were eaten by a fox. A month or 2 later I was weeding in the flower bed and found a nest of duck eggs (they were at least a month old, probably closer to 2). Since I was heartbroken about losing all of my ducks to the fox I set up my old hovabator and set the dozen eggs. Now I have 6 ducklings running around the yard (with a guard goose and pen for night...I learned)

Just goes to show that sometime really old eggs still hatch!

Update! Today is day 15 I candled on Monday. I removed 21 eggs out of 90 that appeared to be infertile.

Of the 21 one was from a Cuckoo Maran that I had purchased, and most of the rest were from my mixed flock. Most of the oldest eggs are still doing we'll.

3 day wait started yesterday.

I am going to make a quick hatcher this today and move the eggs into it. I am going to leave them in the cartons, because they are into the 3 day wait and I don't want to move them.

I will keep you all informed
