Hi All

I am having my first attempt at incubating and hatching.

I have 5 eggs (RIR) which were put into a pre-warmed incubator three Sundays ago so I make this day 21.

3 of the eggs, on last candling on day 17 were quite full, one was smaller and one seemed clear.

The clear egg doesn't smell and I was unsure so I haven't removed it.

I haven't heard any chirping yet although I'm not sure I would hear it over the incubator fan, and no pipping has occurred.

Should I start to worry yet?

Well clear is infertile anytime past day 10.You still have a good shot with the 3 full looking ones. Can take another day or two.

Thank you, I'll leave it 48hrs and then panic if nothing happens.

I assume it's best, as the apparently clear egg doesn't appear to be bad that I should just leave the incubator alone until something happens?

I also had another 3 eggs, (Araucana), in a separate incubator, that are at day 21 on Tuesday. Two of these were clear or had stopped developing early on so I've removed these and have one very full looking egg alone in the incubator in 'lockdown'.

I then have a further 9 eggs of which 4 appear to be developing properly in a third incubator which are due next Sunday. (3 RIR and 1 AR).

If I am lucky and the good eggs (3 + 1 + 4) all hatch is it ok to put them in to one brooder together at the appropriate time IE 3 first, then add 1 then add the 4?

As they should all hatch within a week
I think it will ok to mix them, but watch to make sure the smaller aren't getting picked on too much. Good luck with the hatches :) oh and if it doesn't smell it isn't too likely to explode so prolly safe to leave.

If you are ready to give up before you switch of the incubator water candle them to make sure they aren't still alive and just late.
