The past few days my hens have been laying pink eggs not the usual brown of various shades ans speckled. They are all the same pink. And today someone layed an egg without a shell. Should I worry or is this just one of those things that happen from time to time? What makes egg shell color change?

They have been more free range now that the weather is nice but they still have free access to layer pellets and sunflower seeds. ACV in water and some veggie scraps here and there.

Are you giving them crushed oyster shells for calcium, if not get some plain yogurt and start feeding them that. If they have not been getting enough calcium that could be the problem.

Sometimes my brown eggs come out a little pinkish. And the green ones sometimes have a slight different shade of green. And on rarer occasions, I get she shell less egg, kind of like rubber. I do not know the reasons for these things, but they do happen. I feed lay crumbles, scratch, free range and table scraps.

Same here, except I feed pellets. If it's just an occasional thing, I don't worry. Just a hiccup at the egg factory.
