I have another question, there was this lump of goop that came out with the duckling. Is this normal or is something wrong?

That's great news!Ok I guess I was just paranoid, the duckling just hatched!
It may be the yolk sac wasn't fully absorbed. Depending on how big it is, it should finish absorbing on it's own. Congrats!I have another question, there was this lump of goop that came out with the duckling. Is this normal or is something wrong?
There is usually a lump of goop in the eggshell. It can stay in the shell or spill out and look messy. If the goop is not stuck to the duckling, there is no problem.I have another question, there was this lump of goop that came out with the duckling. Is this normal or is something wrong?

At fist it was attached by a small string of goop, but then after he started to move around it came off. Here is a pictureThere is usually a lump of goop in the eggshell. It can stay in the shell or spill out and look messy. If the goop is not stuck to the duckling, there is no problem.
If the goop is stuck to the duckling, try posting a picture-- it could be the usual stuff from the eggshell, or it could be a yolk sac that didn't finish absorbing. The two things get handled differently.
