Should my chicken start laying soon

My buff Orpington is 33 weeks old and still not laying. Her waddle an comb are getting bigger and redder. She squats when I touch her. Should she start laying soon even though it's December. If so what are some other signs that may mean she is getting ready to lay.

Sometimes, hens that reach maturity in winter won't start laying until spring. I have 7 hens that are 7 months old, and only one of them started laying a few days ago. The others still don't lay. I had expected them to not start laying until spring, so I was surprised when I got an egg a few days ago.

Yep, shorter days of winter can cause delayed laying in young pullets.
